Dennington Arts – Summer Art Exhibition 2021 – Metamorphosis

It’s time to transform… Your wings are ready.

This is the moment of summer I have been dreaming of. The exhibition in my home village of Dennington is at last going to be happening. The whole of the Bank Holiday weekend will, I’m sure, be thrilling. We have 16 local artists, including myself, who will be exhibiting in the lovely spacious and light-filled village hall, and many of these wonderful artists already exhibit around the world. I feel incredibly lucky.

The germ of the idea for an exhibition started 2 years ago, when a friend kept pestering me about showing my work. I knew that, if I was going to do anything, it would have to be a shared event so that other artists could benefit as well. Amazingly, I was overwhelmed with the response I received at this initial stage, and the people who told me that they just knew it would be successful. We had 2 months to organise the first exhibition, and then in August 2019 the event happened, the sun shone and people came in their droves… and of course loved what they saw! And then… well, we all know what occurred – Covid put the mockers on us repeating the experience, and artists were confined to their studios with no-one to view their work ‘in the flesh’…

But now the sunflowers have once more been opening, the harvest fruits are ripening and the air is humming with a renewed excitement and anticipation. We have called this year’s exhibition ‘Metamorphosis’, reflecting the extraordinary times we have been through recently and the changes it has generated. So… the magic is upon us, the dream is once more being made real. I am full of appreciation for all my wonderful friends and to the universe for miracles unfolding. And I am reminded that gratitude is something that needs to be front and foremost in our lives. Gratitude for nature, emerging, blossoming and being incredible in all its unconditional abundance. Gratitude for being alive, being curious, being loved and being endowed with unexpected moments of pure joy.

Please do look on the ‘Dennington Arts’ Facebook page, as well as on our exhibition curator’s page on Instagram – ‘kristina.tonev’ – to see some of the wonderful artwork that is being exhibited this year.

Looking forward to 2021!

We are SO near the end of the year, and there is that weird mixture of world-weary heaviness and anticipation of new, bright horizons. During the last few months I have been venturing forward with different colour palates and experimenting with style. As such (and to make space for new work), I would like to offer any of the paintings already on my website at HALF PRICE – which still includes the frame.

I am feeling very excited about 2021. Hopefully, I will be organising another two exhibitions in my locality (for myself and a number of other Suffolk artists) which, if they are as successful as before, will definitely attract people from far and wide. More details to follow….
